An Attorney Can Help After A Car Accident Injury

Hi, my name is Kirsten Krueger and two years ago, I was in a car accident. I was stopped at a stop sign when the driver behind me slammed into my car. Due to my injuries, I had to spend a few days in the hospital and I was unable to work for two months. My medical care was expensive and without being able to work, I couldn't pay my bills. The car accident was stressful enough and then I had to worry about how I would pay my bills. After speaking with a car accident lawyer, it wasn't long before I was compensated for my medical bills and lost wages from work. I'm writing this blog to help others who have been a car accident and haven't received any compensation. As you read my posts, you'll learn how an attorney can help you if you're in a vehicle accident.

Tips For Changing Your Name After Marriage For Established Professionals

by Sara Williamson

If you own an established business that relies on people knowing you by name, then changing your last name after getting married comes with some additional challenges. While changing your name isn't as simple as it is for most people, it isn't in any way impossible to do so. To this end, here are some tips you can use to change your last name after your marriage and protect yourself professionally:

Tip: Consider Not Changing Your Name at All

Before you come up with a list of other strategies to deal with your name change, take some time to consider not changing your name at all. This is a very personal decision that no one else can make for you. If you don't really care about changing your name and your new spouse is in agreement, then you might want to leave your last name as it is.

Tip: Consider Hyphenating Your Name Even for a Short Period of Time

If you want to take your husband's last name, consider hyphenating your name. If you hate the idea of having a longer, hyphenated name for the long haul, then you can hyphenate it for a year or so until your customers get used to your married name. Once people are familiar with your new last name, then you can easily drop off your old name and stop hyphenating.

Tip: Announce Your New Name and Update All of Your Social Media and Messaging Accounts

If you have decided that you are going to change your name right after you get married and you don't want to hyphenate it, then you need to make an announcement letting everyone know about your name change. You should send the messages from accounts with your old name on them so that they will not be deleted as spam messages. Let everyone know that you are changing your name and give them links to any new accounts that will replace the old ones. Go into your old accounts and change your name from the old one to the new.

Tip: Consult with an Attorney About Changing Your Name on Business Documents

Finally, since your business depends on your name, you may have some legal documents that need to be changed to reflect your new name. For this reason, you should consult with a local attorney to discuss your business and determine what needs to be done to change your name where it is concerned.
