An Attorney Can Help After A Car Accident Injury

Hi, my name is Kirsten Krueger and two years ago, I was in a car accident. I was stopped at a stop sign when the driver behind me slammed into my car. Due to my injuries, I had to spend a few days in the hospital and I was unable to work for two months. My medical care was expensive and without being able to work, I couldn't pay my bills. The car accident was stressful enough and then I had to worry about how I would pay my bills. After speaking with a car accident lawyer, it wasn't long before I was compensated for my medical bills and lost wages from work. I'm writing this blog to help others who have been a car accident and haven't received any compensation. As you read my posts, you'll learn how an attorney can help you if you're in a vehicle accident.

Need To Be Bailed Out Of Jail? How To Do It When You're Low On Cash

by Sara Williamson

If you've found yourself behind bars, your number one objective is finding out what you need to do to get out.  There are few things as disconcerting as realizing that although a bail amount has been set, you just don't have the money to pay for it.  However, there are other things you can do to get out of jail even when funds are tight.  Use this information to learn more about how you can be released from jail when you're low on cash.

Use Your Property As Collateral

The first thing you need to understand is that you likely own property that can be used as collateral to help you get out of jail.  Houses, land, antiques, and family heirlooms are just a few of the items that you have in your possession that can be used in lieu of cash to get you out of jail.

When a bail amount is set, it is essentially an indicator of the amount of value you need to put up in order to be released.  For example, if your bail amount is $5,000 dollars, it means that you must either produce that amount of money or come up with collateral that is worth this number.

You can generate this value a number of different ways.  You may have a home with $10,000 dollars worth of equity in it.  That is more than enough to cover the bail amount.  Conversely, you may have fully paid off pieces of artwork or jewelry that are worth more than the bail amount.  Use those items to take care of your bail.

Keep in mind that once you've submitted your valuables it's vital that you appear for every single court date.  Failure to show up could mean that you forfeit your belongings to the court.

Get Out On Your Own Recognizance

Another technique you can use to be released from jail is to get out on your own recognizance.  This is a legal procedure which means that you promise not to try to escape or run away before your court date.  This is especially potent if you don't have a previous criminal history, or if you have a family that you are the sole provider for.

Don't let limited funds keep you in jail any longer than you have to.  Start using these tips right away so you can get out of jail as soon as possible.
